Royal guard loses car after tryst
Charles Ramendran

KUALA LUMPUR: A driver cum bodyguard to a royalty from a northern state lost a Mercedes Benz E220 belonging to his employer to a woman after a tryst on Tuesday night.

In the car boot was a shotgun kept there by the bodyguard.

The car, worth about RM500,000 and the weapon, were recovered when police spotted the woman driving the car along Jalan Ipoh about 1.30am on Wednesday.

The 35-year-old woman, believed to be a prostitute, was arrested and has been remanded.

Sources said the bodyguard had parked the car near Jalan Chow Kit before meeting up with the woman he had befriended at an undisclosed place.

It is learnt when he fell asleep, the woman stole the car keys, left the man behind and drove off.

The man lodged a police report at about 11pm. Two-and-a-half hours later, a police team on crime prevention patrols spotted the woman driving the car on Jalan Ipoh. They stopped the car and arrested her.

It is learnt that the woman was unaware there was a firearm in the car. She has been remanded to help in investigations.
