Easter Story draws capacity crowds

CALVARY Church Kuala Lumpur’s staging of the musical The Easter Story: He Is Alive!
played to capacity crowds at the Bukit Jalil Putra Stadium in Kuala Lumpur over the past three nights.

The adaptation of original musicals From Heaven’s Throne
and Let All Heaven Rejoice created by composer and arranger David T. Clydesdale, features songs with captivating lyrics and uplifting melodies such as Go Change The World, Trust His Heart and Glory Glory!

The musical filled with song and dance, and heart-moving dramatic elements highlighted the birth, ministry, death on the cross and subsequent resurrection of Jesus.

The pinnacle of the night featured Jesus on the cross as he took his last breath. The lights dimmed and there was total silence.

No one can walk away from the show without remembering that tender instance amidst the song and dance before and after.

With impressive staging enhanced by creative lighting design, visualised by an avant garde young creative team, the musical had a positive impact on the audience.

Behind the success of this stunning production was the contribution of more than a thousand people by their involvement in various aspects such as promotion, choreography, stage design and construction.

The show follows the tradition of other Easter musicals like Rejoice It’s Easter, A Timeless Love, A Father’s Heart and Alive In Power which the Calvary Church has successfully produced in recent years. In conjunction with Easter yesterday, the church also hosted a celebration service at the stadium.
