Beware of prizes-in-flyers scam

I AM writing to warn the public that there is a group of 10 young men hanging out near the staircase of the overhead bridge on Jalan Imbi waiting to cheat the gullible.

To the unwary, they look like they are handing out flyers advertising various goods and services.

The moment you take a flyer, they will follow you and ask you to open a sealed sheet of paper.

Once you open the sheet, they will act as if you have won a big prize.

They will then ask you to make a call to a “centre” and confirm your prize with the “centre”.
Many people have been taken in by their convincing act and followed them to the “centre” to collect their prize. You don’t need to be a genius to guess what happens at the “centre”.

Please remember, in this world nothing is free. Greed will lead you into trouble.
